Questions and answers
Does everyone need to install the app?
No. Buzzerelio works in a recent browser at buzzerelio.web.app, for the host and the players. The Android and iPhone apps are there for those who prefer them, and all of them play in the same game.
How many players can join?
There is no set limit. The demo game runs with 17 players.
Is it fair? Who counts as first?
The queue is the order in which the buzzes reach the server, and the time shown is measured from the start of the round. On a slow connection a buzz can arrive a few tenths of a second late: for a tight final, ask everyone onto the same wifi.
Is it free?
Yes. No ads, no subscription, no in-app purchase.
Does it work without wifi?
Every device needs an internet connection; mobile data is enough.
Can the host play too?
Yes: turn on Participate too when you create the game.
Can two people run the game?
Yes. The host opens a player's page and turns on Control the game.
I have the app: why does the QR code open the browser?
On Android the link opens the app when it is installed. On iPhone it opens the web app in the browser, which plays the same game.
What happens to our data?
There is no account: the app signs you in anonymously. A game keeps its players' names, colors, scores and buzzes, in the European Union, visible only to its players. Join codes are deleted after two days, games 15 days after they end. The privacy policy has the details.
Can we see the results later?
Yes, for 15 days: Last game results on the home screen of every player of the game.
Which languages?
English, French, German and Spanish. The app follows the phone's language, or the one chosen in Settings.
Who makes Buzzerelio?
